Hello again everyone. I appreciate your understanding while I took a little break from all things digital. Once in awhile we need to turn off our screens and take in what is around us. My trip to Mexico was so wonderful--filled with family time, lots of reading and absorbing as much sun as I could (with sunscreen on of course!)
And that brings us to today. Happy New Year's Day! I can't believe it is 2014. While I actually am not too fond of the New Year's Eve festivities, I love the idea of starting a new year. Taking a vacation and starting a New Year is a great way to clear your head and see what has shifted over the last year. There are some shifts that are big, getting a new job or moving to a new city, but there are also smaller shifts, like getting a little wiser or taking a few more risks, that are imperceptible until you realize that you are a slightly different person than the year before. I am a big believer in both of these types of change. A big goal is not suddenly achieved but is worked towards with the accomplishment of several small goals.
This year this is my motto "You can't expect change if you never do anything differently." Change is always hard for me but this is a good reminder that even though it is hard, it is necessary to grow. I look forward to what this year brings but you can't just wait for it, you have to make it happen yourself. No one is going to look out for your interests more than YOU. So go out there and let's start 2014 with a bang!
