According to history Queen Victoria was a fan of turquoise, she reportedly gave each of her ladies-in-waiting a portrait ring with her likeness surrounded by turquoise cabochons. Always eager to emulate the queen, turquoise became quite the craze during the Victorian period and wearing a piece of turquoise set in gold was considered almost a necessity in being well-dressed. I love how these vintage rings display turquoise in a whole new light. Especially how the turquoise has aged over all of these years to a variety of blues and greens. Love.
