Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

MY FAVORITE MAKEUP AND SKINCARE PICKS 2015

I can't tell you how excited I am to share this post with you. It has been a year in the making. I have been at Sephora for over a year now and have been lucky enough to try out so many beauty products. I would say that I am far from an expert but I know what I love and keep going back to time and time again. I would say the first question I get asked when I tell someone that I work at Sephora is "What is your favorite ______"

So I've gone ahead and made it super easy. Below are my favorite products. Will these stand the test of time? I hope so! We will have to see who makes next year's list. Read on to see why I love these products so much and why you need to add them to your routine (they also make great gifts)

Concealer - NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
This was a late comer because I just picked this up a month or so ago. It has quickly become my favorite for waking up tired eyes. It doesn't crease and it seems to smooth out wrinkles. I've watched quite a few beauty blogger videos and this one is a hit with them as well. I have converted my mom and my sister so you know it has to be good.

Foundation - Lancome Cushion Compact
I absolutely love the look of this foundation. It gives the perfect natural look while still being medium coverage. I also love the wet texture that feels moisturizing and makes skin look healthy. My only gripe is how fast it dries out. I have gone through two in the past 6 months because the applicator doesn't hold as much as a tube or bottle. But the end result is totally worth it!

Blush and Bronzer - Bobbi Brown Bronzing Duo
I will say that I use the bronzer more than the blush because I am constantly turning red so no need for blush. I reach for this bronzer because of the natural look of it. It really gives a nice glow without being too orange. I use it under my cheekbones to give them definition and lift.

Highlighter - Clinique Chubby Stick
Of all of the highlighters out there, I have to say I'm surprised my favorite is a Clinique one. I like this because its pretty hard to mess up, you just scribble it onto your cheeks and it blends easily with your fingers. Even people who are scared of highlighting (or don't even know what I am talking about right now) could use this. I use it on the tops of my cheekbones to give a glowy look.

Eyeshadow - Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette
This is also a late comer but not surprising since Urban Decay makes my favorite eyeshadows. This limited edition (get it now people!) palette has the perfect neutrals in it. I love the warmer tones in a combination of mattes and shimmers. I have been wearing it all week with a totally new look each day. The case is also super cute (it's Gwen, did you expect anything less?).

Brush - Too Faced Kabuki Brush
When I first got this brush, I couldn't get over just how soft it was (and it's synthetic!) I like how it twists down to fit in a travel case perfect for on-the-go ladies. It also seems like the perfect density for bronzers and highlighters. It provides a really smooth, natural look.

Lipstick - Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme in Boy Gorgeous
I tried this lipstick early on last year right when it launched. I fell in love the night that I wore the bold vampy shade Blow to dinner and drinks and it stayed on the whole time. It is one of the most comfortable long-wearing lipsticks I've tried. I keep coming back to the Boy Gorgeous shade because it is perfectly wearable but still makes a statement. I want them all!

Eyeliner - KVD Tattoo Eyeliner
I've noticed that people are very particular and loyal when it comes to eyeliner. I feel like eyeliner is the pillow of the makeup world (stay with me here) It is the thing that you wear no matter what your look is, no matter if you dress it up into a dramatic smoky eye or just keep it by itself in a small line to run to the grocery store. It's a basic that you just can't afford to not work. This paint brush-like liner works every time. It takes a few times to get used to but after that, it is the easiest eyeliner to apply and it says on until you want to take it off.

Face Wash - Clinique Take the Day Off
Speaking of taking it off (see what I did there?) Clinique Take the Day Off is my favorite face wash. I have to thank working at Sephora for even having me try a oil cleanser. I think that people still have yet to get used to the idea of cleansing with oil. But once you see how well it works, I promise you will be a convert. I usually take a little bit of this stuff and rub it on my face, concentrating on my tough eye makeup. I let it sit for a 30 seconds or so. Then I use warm water to rinse everything off. It doesn't sting my eyes at all and it leaves my skin feeling nourished afterwards not stripped like some cleansers.

Face Cream - Belif Moisture Bomb
One of the most important things on here, face cream. I was going to split it into day and night but I realized this is my go-to for both. I just love how this moisturizes my skin without feeling greasy. It absorbs quickly, smells like a spa and gives my skin a radiance. I also like their Aqua Bomb for summer months when I need lighter moisturizing. All of their products get great reviews so I might have to try more!

Eye Cream - Amore Pacific Intensive Vitalizing Eye Essence
I really struggle with finding the perfect eye cream. Have I found it yet? Maybe. I keep this cream next to my toothbrush so I remember to use it at night. I like the cooling applicator and the fact that only a half of a pump covers both my eyes. I know it is expensive so it better work, in my opinion. I did notice that it brightens my eye area. I will continue to use to see if there are any longer-lasting effects that might take a few months of continuous use to see.

Face Mask - Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask
Last but not least, my favorite product for getting rid of surprise pimples. I mean, I'm almost 30, why am I still getting pimples?! If I see a red dot popping up, I just dab a thin layer of this on and sleep overnight with it on. I did this a few times of vacation and got made fun of by my family for having little black dots all over my face. But, I promise the ridicule is worth it because you will wake up with a smaller, less red pimple in the morning.

Phew that was a lot of typing! Thanks for reading it all. Let me know if I forgot anything that you would like my (humble) recommendation on!
