Imagine a gray stormy day with sheets of rain coming down outside. All I wanted to do was stay inside, cozy in my stretchy leggings and veg. Well that is exactly what I did. I also whipped up these delicious chocolate pots de creme with olive oil and sea salt.
Before you gasp at the thought of putting olive oil on you chocolate desert, think back to the time when I gave you the recipe for olive oil madelines. Those were pretty tasty huh? So trust me on this one.
I followed this classic recipe for pots de creme. While they aren't hard to make, they do require a little patience when waiting for them to cool.
Then right before you are about to serve, add a nice dollop of whipped cream. To make it even more delicious, drizzle high-quality olive oil and Madrone sea salt over the whipped cream and the chocolate. You have got to have high-quality olive oil for this because you are really going to taste it in every bite. I love using my Round Pond Extra Virgin Olive Oil because it has a really distinctive flavor that pairs perfectly with the rich chocolate.
What do you think would you dare drizzle olive oil on your dessert?
