WRITE ME A LOVE SONG
I'll admit that there are a few things I miss about being unemployed. I know it seems shocking to say and I don't want to go back to it, but I do miss some of of my daily rituals. One of those was calligraphy. There is something so soothing and rhythmic about calligraphy--almost like those adult coloring books that have recently gained in popularity. I had quite a bit of extra time and I took the time to learn new hobbies and skills. One of those was calligraphy.
I hadn't picked up the pen in quite some time until Brit + Co. approached me to try their online class. They sent me their

. Once I had everything set-up (coffee in hand, candles lit, of course) I was ready to get started. The video was the perfect length--not too long, not too brief. I was engaged the whole time and, although she moved a little fast, I understood the basics. It was great because I could pause, practice a few times then resume.
It was a great refresher for me and would be a perfect place to start for someone who is new to calligraphy. It gives you good practice writing different words while enjoying listening to music. It is the perfect weekend activity.
While I might not have the time I did while I was unemployed, I would like to make the time so I can wind down after a long day at work. With calligraphy, it is all about practice and I really do enjoy seeing the results after diligently working on my letters. I hope I can keep it up even as days get busier and busier.
Next up on my wishlist of Brit + Co. classes is the
. Gotta make sure I sharpen up my skills for my upcoming trip to Europe. More on that very, very soon.
