HEALTHY TREAT: CHOCOLATE-DIPPED FIGS
One of my favorite things is to eat fruit with a bit of dark chocolate for dessert. It's a healthy way to finish off the meal and it doesn't throw off all of your hard work at the gym. What if we combined those two delicious things into one beautiful dessert?
These easy chocolate dipped figs can be enjoyed just as easily on your couch as you watch a movie as brought to a dinner party. I sprinkled a few nuts on some of them and big flake sea salt on others. It's up to you how you top them or they are just as good plain.
They couldn't be easier to make. Melt about 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave in 1 minute increments, stirring between. Then dip figs in half way in the chocolate and place on a plate with parchment paper (side note: I also did grapes which were surprisingly delicious) For a more artistic approach, use a spoon or spatula to drizzle chocolate back-and-forth across the fig. Then top with sea salt and pop in the freezer for 10 minutes for the chocolate to set. Note that you should eat these the day you make them because after they sit in the fridge the moisture from the fig will cause them to not look as pretty.
These are the perfect healthy treat to reward yourself with after a long day! Enjoy and happy #humpday!
