Hello Again

My last blog post was April 14th 2019. I had just moved into a modern apartment in San Francisco with my boyfriend of a year. We were settling in and decorating our new apartment, which consisted mainly of me trying to convince him to sell his bachelor furniture. We were continuing to build our lives together. And then the blogging, working and forging a somewhat new relationship became too much. Blogging had always been a wonderful creative outlet that had inspired me, introduced me to new people and got me out in the world experiencing new things. Blogging started to feel a little like a tether and an obligation—it no longer resembled what it once was and I knew it was time to take a break.

It has been almost two years since that day. Two years, one global pandemic, one wedding, one cross-country move, a house purchase and a baby later. It turns out that a lot can happen in two years. Now I am typing this post sitting in my cozy house in Connecticut while anxiously watching a baby monitor for the slightest movement, semi-terrified of a baby’s cry, just hoping that I can get in this post before he wakes up. Life has changed immensely since then but the net net is positive.

Settling into a new place, a new house and navigating motherhood have all provided me with so many ideas for blog posts. So I have decided to dust off the blog that was so much a part of my life for most of my 20s and adjust the topics to what is relevant to what I am inspired by now. To give you a glimpse at a few ideas, it includes :

  • How we are adding little touches to our 1927 charming Tudor cottage to make it feel like ours

  • Starting my first garden

  • Being a new mom—what I have loved and learned along the way

  • Travel tips in local New England destinations and hopefully a few abroad as well

  • Antique finds to make your decor feel unique

  • Quick, easy meals that I have been making on repeat

I’m going to take it slow and will probably only have a few posts a week at first. I have added an “Archive” section of the blog that includes all of the previous posts from April 2019 back to when the blog started in 2010 (some of those posts are pretty comical) The new posts will live in the “Blog” section of the site.

I can’t express how good it feels to be back blogging again. Thank you for being on this journey with me and your support.

Lauren
